The City Council met in special session on November 6, 2009 at 12:07 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Mayor Walker presided: Councilmembers present:      Wes Lester Linda Aiken City employee present was Clerk Kennedy. The meeting was called to order. Mayor Walker stated that the special meeting was called to canvass the votes only. ELECTION CANVASSING: At this time the Mayor and Councilmembers canvassed the votes of the November 3rd election and from said returns it appeared that the following received the number of votes set opposite the name for the office designated: to WIT: MAYOR – 4 YEAR TERM Bruce Walker 143 COUNCILMEMBER – 4 YEAR TERM It is hereby declared that Bruce Walker, Rob Bentley, Delbert Houger and Wes Lester were duly elected as Mayor and Councilmembers respectively for a four (4) year term. On motion by Councilman Houger, second by Councilman Peterson to accept the above results of the canvassing of votes for 2009. Motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council present. The meeting adjourned at 12:45 P.M. |
